Meet Patrick

Patrick Jones brings a rich and diverse background in music performance, education, and creative arts to his teaching. His musical journey began with classical piano studies under the guidance of exceptional teachers, including Mary Ann Knight, the 2010 MTNA Teacher of the Year, and her husband Bill Knight. Growing up immersed in church music, Patrick honed his skills as a pianist and guitarist, performing preludes, special music, and leading youth worship. His early experiences also included composing and performing with choirs, laying a strong foundation in classical repertoire, technique, and theory. In his teenage years, Patrick's interests expanded to jazz and popular music, leading to a career as a gigging musician. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Valdosta State University, a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Oregon, and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, blending his passion for music with a deep understanding of business and leadership.

Over the past two decades, Patrick has built a dynamic career as a freelance musician, educator, and clinician, performing across the U.S. and Europe. He has toured with big bands, rock and pop ensembles, and hip-hop artists, and contributed as a studio musician at CMT Studios in Nashville. Patrick has also served in various church leadership roles, currently working as Director of Music Ministry at Faith Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, OH. In addition to his musical pursuits, Patrick founded WoJo Creative in 2021, offering creative business consulting and content creation services.

Patrick and his wife, Dr. Lynn Worcester Jones, an Associate Professor of Piano Pedagogy at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, moved to Cincinnati with their two children in 2024. Together, they enjoy exploring the city’s vibrant neighborhoods and culinary scene, going on family adventures, and supporting arts and music organizations locally and nationally.
